Our association in conjunction with Ruleme Center has been instrumental in delivering transformative care to not only their sub-acute patients but also enhancing the quality of life for their long-term residents as well. Known for their excellence in rehabilitation, their team collaborates closely with our physicians to identify and address barriers to recovery. Through training and coordination, they’ve empowered our physiatry and pain management staff to ask tailored questions, such as “Are you in pain when you move?”. These investigative and purposeful questions along with active movement have helped us uncover meaningful insights, drilling down on the root cause impacting their impairments, directly shaping our patient-centered treatment plans.

Our patient Judy experienced debilitating pain, fostering fears, ultimately limiting her functional movement over a year’s time resulting in dependence with all mobility and self-care tasks. With appropriate interventions, hard work and collaboration with our team she returned to walking confidently into her new apartment, restoring her independence. Meet Susie, another proud success story! She presented to the team unable to stand for nearly a year, with very limited range of motion and pain with movement. As a result of effective interventions and treatment sessions she is now able to walk unlimited distances pain free, and able to return home independently. She not only reclaimed her functional mobility and range of motion, but from her perspective, she characterized it as her freedom.
