Florida Spine & Pain Institute

Meet Dr. Harrison Haiden: Champion of Rehabilitation and Recovery

We’re thrilled to welcome the newest addition to the Florida Spine & Pain Institute family, Dr. Harrison Haiden, a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist with a big brain, even bigger heart and fun fact, some serious bench press skills!

Dr. Haiden joins us fresh off his residency at NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation, one of the top PM&R programs in the country. ABPM&R Board-eligible, he brings advanced expertise in neuro-rehab, spinal cord and brain injury care, orthopedic recovery, and pain management techniques like injections for dystonia and migraines. As our new Medical Co-Director for rehabilitation at our skilled nursing facility, he’ll be overseeing inpatient care and helping patients rebuild their strength and lives every day.

Dr. Haiden chose to join Florida Spine & Pain Institute because of his strong interest in Interventional Pain Management and the innovative treatments we offer to help patients find long-term relief from chronic pain. He’s passionate about improving function and quality of life, with a special focus on rehabilitation and restoring mobility. Under the direction and training of Dr. Javier Placer, Dr. Haiden will certify in all interventional pain management treatment options. While he enjoys all areas of physical medicine, his heart lies in helping patients regain independence and strength.

Originally from a small town outside Bangor, Maine, Dr. Haiden discovered his love for physiatry medicine after a weightlifting injury left him with a herniated disc. His path took him from patient to physician, with study abroad time in Argentina (yes, he speaks Spanish!) and even the Olympic weightlifting scene, where he racked up six state records as a self-taught athlete.

Dr. Haiden is married to a Peruvian wife and the couple is relocating from New York City to Orlando to be closer to family. They’re looking forward to life under the sun and enjoying the outdoors year round, including kayaking, hiking, and great food.

What makes him stand out? Patients say he talks to you like a friend, straightforward, compassionate, and honest. “I’ll always tell you what I’d recommend to myself,” he says. “Autonomy matters, and I make sure every patient understands their options clearly.”

Outside of medicine, Dr. Haiden is all about the outdoors, nutrition, fitness, cultural experiences, and (yes) spinning house music tracks for friends and family. Because every great rehab doc needs a great playlist!

Join us in giving Dr. Haiden a warm welcome. Patients: you’re in strong, skilled hands! For appointments with Dr. Harrison Haiden, please call 407 499 0755 or click here to request an appointment.
